In addition to their ongoing enrichment programs, our CYM kids & families can attend monthly general workshops & outdoor education workshops together. You can help these run more smoothly by assisting our CYM staff with check-in, meal set up, and helping our kids with workshop activities. There is always a CYM staff member with you and we’ll provide a list of FAQs in advance.
Children (along with their parent or guardian) sometimes need transportation to or from their enrichment program, workshop or CYM activities & special events. This could be a one-time assignment or a regular commitment, depending on your availability. Give a ride, get to know our kids & families and open the door to community impact.
Many of our CYM families speak English as their second language and need in-person (interpreting at workshops or special events) or written (translating for our website or handouts). Do you speak/write Spanish? Yes? Please consider joining our volunteer team!
Translators review written information that is sent to our families and put on the website and translate the information into the various languages that are needed to communicate. Our main need is Spanish speakers.
Interpreters are physically present at events (workshops, hikes, Family Empowerment dinners, community events) and are responsible for verbally interpreting the English language that is presented into the various needed languages for the families we serve.
The Family Liaison is the primary contact with our CYM family’s “Parent Partner.” This means – answering questions, helping with enrichment program registrations, reaching out with bi-monthly check-ins, attending Family Empowerment dinners, and supporting the family as needed. Giving just a few hours a month can make such a positive difference!
