Sheriff’s Office Annual Open House Event (Evento anual de puertas abiertas de la Oficina del Sheriff)
Friday, June 13 starting at 5:00 pm (Viernes 13 de junio comienza a las 5:00 pm)
FREE. You are invited to a fun family event that will help educate everyone on what the Sheriff’s Office does. Each station will have deputies, so it is a great way for kids (and parents) to interact with and get to know the people behind the badge. Outside will be similar to a “Touch-A-Truck,” with apparatus from DFRS, CHART, MDOT, DNR, FCSO, and MSP as well as games and activities for kids that include an obstacle course and sandbox “evidence” digging station. The Sheriff’s Office K9s will be doing scheduled demonstrations and the MSP Helicopter, Trooper 3, will be landing toward the end of the event. Inside will have tables that showcase different units within the agency and what they do (detectives, narcotics, SROs, etc.) as well as some other County entities that the Sheriff’s Office works closely with. There will be two food trucks on site that will be selling food, and the Sheriff’s Office will be giving out free hotdogs, popcorn, snow cones, and water as well. (GRATIS. Los invitamos a un divertido evento familiar que les ayudará a conocer a todos sobre la labor de la Oficina del Sheriff. Cada estación contará con agentes, lo que es una excelente manera para que los niños (y sus padres) interactúen y conozcan a las personas detrás de la placa. El exterior será similar a un "Toca un Camión", con aparatos del DFRS, CHART, MDOT, DNR, FCSO y MSP, así como juegos y actividades para niños que incluyen una carrera de obstáculos y una estación de excavación de evidencia en un arenero. Los K9 de la Oficina del Sheriff realizarán demostraciones programadas y el helicóptero de la MSP, Trooper 3, aterrizará hacia el final del evento. En el interior habrá mesas que mostrarán las diferentes unidades de la agencia y sus funciones (detectives, narcóticos, SRO, etc.), así como otras entidades del condado con las que la Oficina del Sheriff colabora estrechamente. Habrá dos camiones de comida en el lugar que venderán comida, y la Oficina del Sheriff también estará entregando hot dogs, palomitas de maíz, conos de nieve y agua gratis.
